Connect your agent
Copy one line into the agent you already use. It does the rest. New accounts start with $1 of free credit.
Paste it into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI or any MCP agent. It connects Ownhand itself and signs you in through your browser. No key to copy.
Or do it yourself
Add one URL to your MCP client. A browser opens, you sign in or sign up, pick your Hand, and you're done. No API key to copy.
https://ownhand.dev/mcpPick your client
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user ownhand https://ownhand.dev/mcpThen run /mcp in Claude Code, pick ownhand and sign in.
- In Claude, open Settings, Connectors.
- Choose Add custom connector and paste
https://ownhand.dev/mcp. - Click Connect and sign in.
Works in claude.ai, Claude Desktop and the mobile apps once added.
- In ChatGPT settings, turn on Developer mode.
- Add a connector (an app) and paste
https://ownhand.dev/mcpas its URL. - Sign in when ChatGPT asks.
Then click Connect next to ownhand in Cursor's MCP settings. Or add it to ~/.cursor/mcp.json:
{
"mcpServers": {
"ownhand": {
"url": "https://ownhand.dev/mcp"
}
}
}For GitHub Copilot agent mode. Insiders. Or from a terminal:
code --add-mcp '{"name":"ownhand","type":"http","url":"https://ownhand.dev/mcp"}'codex mcp add ownhand --url https://ownhand.dev/mcpCodex opens a browser to sign in. If it doesn't, run:
codex mcp login ownhandCodex loads MCP servers when it starts. If it was already running, restart it so the tools show up:
codex resume --lastgemini mcp add --transport http --scope user ownhand https://ownhand.dev/mcpThen run /mcp auth ownhand in Gemini CLI to sign in.
Add this to mcp_config.json (Cascade, MCP servers, View raw config), then sign in when asked.
{
"mcpServers": {
"ownhand": {
"serverUrl": "https://ownhand.dev/mcp"
}
}
}Add this to your Zed settings. Zed asks you to sign in the first time it connects.
{
"context_servers": {
"ownhand": {
"url": "https://ownhand.dev/mcp"
}
}
}Or run goose configure, add a remote extension (streamable HTTP) and paste https://ownhand.dev/mcp.
In Cline's MCP servers, add a remote server, or put this in cline_mcp_settings.json. Then click to sign in.
{
"mcpServers": {
"ownhand": {
"type": "streamableHttp",
"url": "https://ownhand.dev/mcp"
}
}
}After you connect
Ask your agent to set up your Hand. It will ask for 5 to 10 things you wrote and learn your voice from them. Clients that show MCP prompts also list set_up_my_hand.
Then ask it to write anything you'll send as yourself. It shows you the draft first and learns from what you actually send. The agent blurb makes this automatic.
Use an API key instead
For clients without sign-in, scripts, and CI. Create a key in the dashboard and send it as a header. X-Ownhand-Hand is optional and sets the default Hand.
claude mcp add --scope user --transport http ownhand https://ownhand.dev/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer $OWNHAND_API_KEY"{
"mcpServers": {
"ownhand": {
"url": "https://ownhand.dev/mcp",
"headers": {
"Authorization": "Bearer <OWNHAND_API_KEY>",
"X-Ownhand-Hand": "prof_..."
}
}
}
}The dashboard Connect page fills in your key and Hand for each client. The HTTP API is at https://ownhand.dev/v1.
