AI text cleaner
Paste text from ChatGPT, Claude or any AI. It marks the em dashes, hidden characters, leftover markdown and overused AI words, and fixes the mechanical ones in one click. It runs in your browser, so nothing you paste leaves this page.
Paste text and what it finds shows up here.
What it checks
- Dashes. Em dashes and spaced en dashes, the punctuation readers now link to AI text.
- Hidden characters. Zero-width spaces, no-break spaces and other invisible characters that come along when you copy from a chat window.
- Leftover markdown. The asterisks around bold words and the # in front of headings, which show up as symbols in email and Slack.
- Curly quotes and the one-character ellipsis, if you want plain ones.
- AI words. About a hundred words models overuse, each with a plain swap.
- Stock sentence patterns. 17 of them, such as a contrast setup, a summary line to close, or a question asked only to answer it.
What one click can't fix
Dashes, characters and formatting are mechanical, so a click fixes them. Words and sentence patterns need a rewrite, and swapping words alone rarely makes a draft sound like the person who sends it. The full list of tells, with examples, is in the phrases that make a message read as AI-written.
Does cleaning hide that AI wrote it?
No. This tool doesn't score text or check for AI, and cleaning dashes and characters leaves the words as they were. It's for people sending their own messages who don't want the leftovers of a copy and paste in them.
Then make it sound like you
Cleaning fixes the characters. The words can still sound like a model wrote them. Ownhand rewrites your agent's drafts in your own voice, from 5 to 10 things you wrote, and learns from what you send.
